Following protracted negotiations the deal, believed to be in the region of ?3.5million, has been settled for Given, 35, to switch to Villa Park and fill the gap left following Brad Friedel's departure to Tottenham.
The Republic of Ireland international has been desperate to find regular first-team football after dropping down the pecking order at Eastlands behind England stopper Joe Hart.
