Aston Villa could pull of what could be one of the transfer coups of the season, with a shock move for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
The West London club are unwilling to match Drogba's contract demands of a new 2 year deal and thus, negotiations between club and player have hit a stalemate.
Villa thou are thought to be willing to match these demands and match his current salary of ?120,000 a week, but this would only happen if current star Striker Darren Bent moves to Liverpool.
Goal.com reports that although the Midlands club are stressing none of its assets are for sale, Current Boss Alex Mcleish is keen to add to his squad and with limited funds available to him the sale of Bent would free up the funds to move for the Chelsea man.
The Ivory Coast international has a wide selection of options available to him, with strong interest in him from suitors including cash-rich Chinese and Russian clubs, MLS and Serie A.
